Place de la Concorde is alive with excitement for the upcoming 2016 European Cup soccer tournament being hosted by Paris in June of this year.  In honour of this event the grand roue (“large ferris wheel”) gracing the area is usually dismantled in February but will be kept up until September.  It’s height has been increased to 65 meters from 57 and each capsule bears a photograph of a face decorated with the colours of one of the participating teams.
